FlyingPuppet.com

I went and had a look at a website called www.flyingpuppet.com. There were heps of interesting works, however, the work that I liked the most was called 'Trauma' by Nicolas Clauss. It was a basic flash project divided into four squares. As I moved my cursor over these four squares, different sounds could be heard, for example: cats meowing, and someone playing a flute. Then four different movies started playing. These movies depicted a guy sitting in a train doing wierd things to what looked like a briefcase. Probably because he was bored on the way home from work. Also in this section, it seemed like I had to try and sync up the different sounds to create some sort of song.

It reminded me of an interactive piece that I completed in another subject last year. However, this other project was divided into 9 squares and showed activities that people would do if they suffered from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The object of the project was to sync up the different sounds, but no matter how hard the user tried, they couldn't do it as one of the loops was out of sync, making it impossible to sync up the sounds.

I liked this piece of work as it interested me, mainly because of the guy sitting in the train trying to play music on his briefcase. Also, I liked the different sounds that the artist used to create a surreal and ambient environment.
